Bleating Hearts Farm and Sanctuary

“You can’t buy love, but you can rescue it.”

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue and sanctuary located in Napa, California, providing a haven for most often abused or neglected farm and domestic animals in need of a permanent home. Facilitating adoptions for those rehabilitated, in a self-reliant and environmentally conscious plant-based farm agriculture setting, while educating the public about animal friendly lifestyle choices.

Our Mission

Our mission is providing a haven for farm and domestic animals in need of a permanent home and facilitating adoptions for those rehabilitated, in a self-reliant and environmentally conscious plant-based farm agriculture setting. Bringing awareness and aid to domestic animals in high-kill shelters and working with the public to reduce animal suffering by spay/neuter programs. While educating the public about animal friendly lifestyle choices and giving students an alternative outcome for their raised farm animals, in an effort to reduce fatal auctions.

About Us

Bleating Hearts Farm and Sanctuary was founded in 2018 after the passing of our beloved goat Cupcake. We vowed that day to do anything in our power to help farm animals like her live without fear of slaughter or abuse. We are located in Napa County on a single acre plot. We take pride in being surrounded by fabulous views and vineyards while making a positive impact saving animals lives.

3122

animals saved

In the course of our journey we have successfully re-homed or rescued 3122+ animals. Ever seen a goat fly? We have!

80

animals currently housed

Permanent home to 80 animals. They will never have to worry again and be under our care for their lifespan.

5

years serving communities

We haven’t been around long, but we are still making a large impact in a short amount of time and will be continuing for many years to come.

Our Services

Graces Baby Apricotresize.jpg

We offer a wide variety of services, from rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption to making sure your companion has a home after you can no longer care for them. We hope to be able to help in any way possible to ensure these animals get the care they require and deserve. Currently we are able to care for goats and chickens. Once funding is more stable we will open our services to rabbits, ducks, potbelly pigs, and feral cats.

Rescue and Rehabilitation

We want to help those in desperate need! From birth deformities, handicapped, to hoarded animals we would like to help get them the care they need. Our goal is to help them be adopted into loving pet homes. If they cannot be adopted out, they will live on the sanctuary.

In-House Assistance

Providing check-ins for those in need that would like to keep their animals but need a helping hand in caring for them.

Animal Retirement housing

As an example, a very common question for us is, “Our chickens aren’t laying eggs anymore. Can you take them?” Yes! We would love to be a home for animals that have ‘retired’.

Peace of mind final housing

One of the most heartbreaking things is worrying about our animals and who will take care of them when you can no longer do so. We will be here for you if need peace of mind knowing that your beloved animal will be cared for.
